For the Stilltide app only. This page applies to Stilltide (stilltide.app) and to texts to and from a Stilltide number. It does not apply to our other apps, which have their own policies.
Stilltide Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-12
This policy is for Stilltide, made by Murray Movement Labs LLC. Stilltide is in development and has not been released. This policy may change before release.
The short version
- Stilltide uses your information only to run Stilltide for you.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not track you across other apps.
- We do not score, rate or profile your co-parent.
- Phone numbers and text-message consent information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- You can delete your account inside the app, and your record goes with it.
Who this covers
This policy covers Stilltide, the app and the phone numbers it provides. The subscriber is the person who has a Stilltide account. The co-parent is the person who texts the subscriber's Stilltide number.
Stilltide is made for parents. It is not meant for use by children.
If you are a co-parent and received a text from a Stilltide number, see "If you received a text from a Stilltide number" below.
What we collect
From the subscriber
- Account details: email address, name and phone number, and which sign-in method you use (email, Apple or Google).
- Your children's first names and ages.
- Your schedule notes and your settings.
- Your push notification token, so the app can alert you.
- Numbers you block, and the co-parents you block in the app (or that Stilltide blocks after upholding your report), with the name you knew them by and the date.
- If you add a parenting plan: the document you upload (a PDF, photos of its pages, or pasted text) and the schedule Stilltide reads from it.
- If you turn on calendar use: the time and title of your calendar events for the next 48 hours. Turning it off deletes the stored events.
- Whether your subscription is active, once subscriptions are available.
About your co-parent and other senders
- Your co-parent's phone number.
- The messages sent to and from your Stilltide number, including the original text, the time it arrived, and photos sent in a text. Calls to your number are logged as a call entry with the time and length. Calls are not recorded.
- If the co-parent also uses Stilltide and the two parents link, the messages they exchange in the app are kept in both parents' records, and each keeps their copy if the other unlinks, blocks, leaves or deletes their account.
- Texts from numbers other than your co-parent's are kept separately, with their number, so you can see them.
On this website
- If you ask to be told when Stilltide is ready, we keep your email address and the date, and nothing else. Email [email protected] and we will delete it.
- Our website host may collect basic visit statistics for the site.
Reports
If the subscriber reports a message in a linked conversation, Stilltide emails us, through our email service, that message as it was sent, the reason chosen, and the account IDs of both parents, so we can review it. If a co-parent who also uses Stilltide reports a message the subscriber sent, we receive it the same way. We keep a report with the reporter's account to handle it and to show them which messages they reported.
How we use it
Only to run Stilltide for the subscriber. That means we use it to:
- Receive texts to the subscriber's Stilltide number and send the replies the subscriber chooses to send.
- Filter and summarize messages with Anthropic's Claude AI, but only after the subscriber agrees. Every summary is labelled "not the original message".
- Alert the subscriber to urgent matters. An urgent push notification and the automated alert call use fixed wording. They never include the content of a message.
- Keep a record of the original messages in a hash-chained form that the subscriber can export.
- Email the subscriber once before a free trial ends if a notification can't reach them.
- If the subscriber adds a parenting plan, read it with Claude to find the schedule, and again each year to update the holidays. The subscriber reviews the result before it is used.
- If the subscriber asks for a reply draft, have Claude draft wording for what the subscriber chose to say. Drafts are not saved. Nothing is sent unless the subscriber sends it.
- If the subscriber's tone check is on ("Check the tone of my replies before sending", on unless they switch it off in Settings), have Claude read the reply they are about to send and the few messages before it, to offer a calmer version. The check stores nothing, and the subscriber chooses what is sent.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell it. We do not track you across other apps or websites. Stilltide does not read the texts already on your phone.
Who processes it
These companies handle information for us as service providers. They act on our behalf to deliver the service, and for no other purpose of ours.
- Our database host stores your account and your record.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) processes message content to filter and summarize it, only after the subscriber agrees. It also reads a parenting plan (once, and again each year for the holidays), writes reply drafts the subscriber asks for, reads a reply before it is sent when the tone check is on, and, if calendar use is on, receives the next 48 hours of calendar events with each new message to judge urgency.
- Our text-message carrier carries texts, photos and calls between phones and Stilltide, and sends phone verification codes.
- Our push notification service delivers push notifications.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in if you choose them.
- Our subscription service manages subscriptions. It receives your Stilltide account ID and your purchase records, never your messages. Payment is handled by Apple or Google.
- Our email service sends our emails (sign-in codes, and that one trial reminder) and receives your email address and the email's text; it never receives your messages, except a message reported to us (see Reports).
- Once an hour, a public timestamping service signs a fingerprint of the records so the subscriber can later check theirs hasn't changed; it receives only that fingerprint, never messages or anything that identifies anyone.
- Our web host serves this website.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Text messages (SMS)
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent or opt-in information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and are not sold.
To be accurate: the service providers listed above process phone numbers and messages only to deliver Stilltide on our behalf. For example, Twilio carries the texts. They do not use them for their own marketing.
Message frequency: Texts sent from a Stilltide number go to the subscriber's co-parent. They are replies that the subscriber chooses to send, plus a one-time notice before the first reply. How often you receive texts varies with the conversation.
Message and data rates may apply.
Opt out and help: Reply STOP to stop receiving texts from that number. Reply START to receive them again. Reply HELP for help. You can also email [email protected].
The full SMS program terms are in our Terms of Service.
If you received a text from a Stilltide number
The number belongs to a person who uses Stilltide to read and keep their co-parenting messages. You are probably their child's other parent.
- Your messages to that number are recorded. Software may summarize them for the person who owns the number. The original is always kept.
- Texts you get from that number are only replies that person chose to send, plus a one-time notice before the first reply.
- Reply STOP to stop receiving texts from that number. Reply START to receive them again. Reply HELP for help. If you keep texting the number, your messages are still recorded.
- Stilltide does not send you marketing or promotions, and does not share your number for marketing.
- Stilltide does not score, rate or profile you.
- Questions or requests: [email protected]. Please include the Stilltide number you texted. We may need to refer a request about your messages to the person who owns the number.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- We keep your information while your account is active.
- You can delete your account inside the app at any time. This removes your record of messages, your parenting plan and your Stilltide number right away. It cannot be undone, and the app offers an export first.
- You can delete your parenting plan and its schedule separately, at any time.
- If your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only for 90 days. New messages are still saved and you can export your record, but the AI features are off. After 90 days your account is deleted and your number is released.
- Reply drafts and tone-check suggestions are not stored.
Your choices
- You can switch AI processing off in Settings. New messages are still received and kept, but not filtered or summarized.
- You can export your record whenever you want.
- You can switch the tone check off in Settings.
- You can block a number. Its messages are still kept in your record, but Stilltide does nothing with them on your behalf.
- You can block a co-parent you message in the app. That ends your conversation in the app and stops the two of you linking again; what was already exchanged stays in your record. You can unblock them later in the app's Settings, except when Stilltide blocked them after upholding your report: to change that, email [email protected].
- You can ask us about your information at [email protected].
Security
Your data is protected by access rules, so only you can read your records. Messages can only be added to the record by Stilltide's servers, not by the app, and each message is linked to the one before it so changes can be detected. On phones, the app can be locked with Face ID or your device passcode. On the web, you are signed out after a period of inactivity.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise it. If you think your account is at risk, email us.
Changes to this policy
Stilltide is in development, so this policy may change before release. When it changes, the app asks you to agree again before you go on. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
